Staff nurses enjoyed the lion dance show put up by Yick Nam troupe, the world famous lion dancing troupe.



The crowd were amazed by the spectacular display of skills presented by the Yick Nam troupe.

The UMNO Wanita Penampang led by its Wanita Head, Puan Nining Ballard, its Secretary , and members attended the Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration; a proof that CNY is no longer a Chinese only festival, but also for all the ethnic races in the country. It's truely 1Malaysia spirit in practice.

World Kidney Day 2010



The backdrop of the event - World Kidney Day 2010




Dr. Awang Setia, on behalf of Y.Bhg Dr. Yusof, the Director of Jabatan Kesihatan Negeri Sabah, delivered a speech and later declared open the World Kidney Day 2010 at City Mall, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, on 13-Mar-2010.



Dr. Awang Setia, Deputy Director (Clinical), Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu, delivered a speech on behalf of the State Medical Director, Y. Bhg. Dr. Yusof Hj. Ibrahim at the World Kidney Day 2010 celebration in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.




Dr. Bharathan Thevarajah, the Organizer of the World Kidney Day 2010 event, delivered a welcoming speech. Dr. Bharathan Thevarajah is a Nefrologist Consultant at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

Wheelchair donation from MIC Youth for Thalassemia Treatment Centre of Hospital Queen Elizabeth




One (1) unit of wheelchair was donated generously by MIC Youth Sabah to The Thalassemia Treatment Centre, Hospital Queen Elizabeth (HQE) in Jalan Penampang on 25.Feb.2010.

The donation of the wheelchair was prompted by the request from the centre a week ago that some of the weaker patients had to rely on the equipment in order to move around in the hospital area freely, and easily.

Balachandra, a Public Complaint Bureau head, and a member, of the board; who is also a member of the MIC Sabah, immediately sought help from their youth wing, and the wish of the centre, and the desires of its young patients were finally fulfilled waiting too long.

The wheelchair obviously relieves the stress of the medical workers, and the users, in the centre as proven by their smiles.

Upon informed by Sister Irene, and Matron Elizabeth, the board in its most recent monthly meeting accepted the voluntary donation from MIC, represented by En. Balachandra.

The hand-over of the wheelchair were witnessed by Matron Elizabeth and Sister Irene from the hospital; En. Rudy, En. Gary, and En. Neil from MIC; and Mr. Balachandran (Head of Complaint bureau), Mr. Ong See Kwang (Committee Member), Madam Maria Sandra Sho (Deputy Secretary), and Mr. Chu Kong Ming (Chairman) from the LPHQE respectively.

Wheelchair donation for QEH II



Two (2) units of wheelchair were donated to Hospital Queen Elizabeth II (HQE II) in Damai on 25.Feb.2010.

The arrival of the wheelchairs have been long awaited; and would have been of great helps for handicapped patients, as well as their family members who accompanied them in and out of the hospital.

Upon informed by Matron Lo, the board in its most recent monthly meeting approved the purchase of two (2) units of wheelchair.

The hand-over of the wheelchairs were witnessed by Matron Lo YC, Sister , En. from the hospital, and Mr. Ong See Kwang (Committee Member), Madam Maria Sandra Sho (Deputy Secretary), and Mr. Chu Kong Ming (Chairman) from the LPHQE respectively.
